Tanzania, UK agree to deepen ties in peace, security, public safety

DODOMA: THE Tanzanian government has agreed to strengthen cooperation with the United Kingdom in areas related to internal security, law enforcement, and the protection of its citizens and their property.
The Minister for Home Affairs, Patrobas Katambi, has met and held talks with the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Marianne Young, focusing on cooperation in maintaining peace, public safety, and the rule of law.

The meeting, which took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mtumba, Dodoma, today, February 3, 2026, was also attended by the UK Head of Security and Justice, Alex Beck, and the Head of the British High Commission’s Dodoma Office, Godfrida Magubo.

Discussions centred on strengthening collaboration in areas related to internal security, law enforcement, and the protection of citizens and property.
The engagement reflects ongoing bilateral cooperation between Tanzania and the United Kingdom on governance and security matters.
