Indaba Conference hands Tanzania a platform, advertise its richness in strategic minerals

DODOMA: THE Ministry of Minerals and its Institutions along with the stakeholders in the mining value chain, including financial institutions, will participate in the International Mining Investment Indaba Conference to be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from February 9 to 12, 2026.
This was revealed today, February 3, 2026, by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Msafiri Mbibo, during a session that discussed how Tanzania’s participation will leverage existing opportunities in the mining sector as well as explaining the various reforms that have been carried out.
Mbibo said that, at the Conference, Tanzania expects to announce itself as a country with abundant mineral resources, especially in strategic minerals, and will participate in discussions with key people on investment, technology, and business cooperation in the mining sector.
Mbibo added that Tanzania’s participation is in line with the government’s efforts to improve the investment climate and ensure that the mining sector benefits citizens in a sustainable manner through modern processes and international cooperation.
Explaining the benefits of participating in the conference, Mbibo explained that some of the benefits of participation include increasing government revenues, opening up new investment opportunities in the sector, showcasing existing opportunities in mineral resources, strengthening international cooperation, and exchanging experiences and modern mining technologies from other countries.
