Tanzania set to host the World Travel Awards 2026

BAHRAIN: TANZANIA has been honoured to host the upcoming World Travel Awards 2026 finals. It was revealed during the 2025 awards ceremony held in Bahrain.
Tanzania was announced as the host of the awards after being mentioned as a nation with excellent performance in the tourism sector.
“When you organized the Africa Awards this year, we saw that you are people of standards in events. Now that we have trusted you, we bring you the world of tourism, it is coming to Tanzania. See you next year,” said the President of the Awards, Graham Cooke.
Tanzania has continued to maintain its global position as the “World’s Leading Country for Safari Tourism” at the World Travel Awards 2025.
Tanzania has been awarded this prestigious title in the global tourism industry during the 32nd World Travel Awards (WTA 2025), held on 6 December 2025.
The WTA Awards, referred to as the “Oscars of global tourism” due to its high profile in the industry, brought together over 500 participants, including government leaders and tourism stakeholders.

Tanzania won four awards, including the famous Zanzibar Island (Spice Islands), which won the World MICE Awards 2025 as the “Best African Destination for Meetings and Corporate Events.”
The Serengeti National Park has also been declared the “World’s Best National Park 2025” at the WTA Awards.
Tanzania also won two more awards in the Private Sector category, including “World’s Best Balloon Safari Company,” won by Serengeti Balloon Safaris.
Another award went to the World’s Best Island Resort, with Jumaira Thanda Resort on Mafia Island in Tanzania emerging as the winner in that category.
