EAC Secretariat launches staff wellness centre at Arusha headquarters

ARUSHA: THE East African Community (EAC) Secretariat has unveiled a new wellness and fitness facility aimed at promoting the physical well-being of its workforce.

The Jumuiya Wellness Centre, constructed at a cost of 425m/-, was officially inaugurated at the EAC headquarters in Arusha by the Secretary General, Veronica Nduva.

The modern facility is equipped with a range of gymnastic and sports amenities designed to encourage staff to adopt healthier lifestyles.

“Office work can be detrimental to health, as people often spend long hours seated with minimal movement,” said Nduva.

“All work and no play makes people dull, and the EAC is committed to ensuring our staff stay physically active.”
