A French national sees Tanzania as the safest tourist destination

ARUSHA: THOMAS, a tourist from France who has spent about two weeks exploring Tanzania’s tourist attractions,  said his experience has surpassed every expectation.

Thomas revealed that he and his friends entered the country through Malawi and embarked on a journey that has taken him from Mikumi National Park to the white sands of Zanzibar, the cool highlands of the Usambara Mountains, bustling Arusha, and now the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, with Serengeti National Park next on the itinerary.

“So actually there’s so much to do, more than what we’ve experienced in other countries, so that’s why we stay as long as possible. We haven’t felt very, what’s the word, in danger or not safe, let’s say, and that’s been mostly the case in other countries like Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, we haven’t felt unsafe in general in Africa,” Thomas said.

For Thomas, the adventure is far from over. He plans to remain in Tanzania for another two months, calling it “the experience of a lifetime,” with a climb up Mount Kilimanjaro already on his agenda.

“I think if you want to go to Africa, especially southern or eastern Africa, Tanzania would be the great first step to take. If you feel like you’d be a bit scared, Tanzania will be welcoming and make you feel like this is home,” he said.
