Mavunde launches construction of Maseya dispensary

DODOMA: MINERALS Minister and Member of Parliament for Mtumba constituency, Mr Anthony Mavunde, recently joined hundreds of residents of Maseya Street, Hombolo Makulu Ward to launch the construction of a dispensary in the area, fulfilling a pledge he made during the 2025 General Election campaign.

Mr Mavunde thanked residents for their confidence in electing President Samia Suluhu Hassan, himself and the ward councillor with overwhelming votes, noting that the focus now is on delivering development and addressing community challenges.

“Our priority now is to address the challenges facing our people through hard work. I commend the residents for their positive response in starting the construction of this dispensary, which will bring essential health services closer to our community,” he said.

The MP announced that he will donate 2,000 bricks and 100 bags of cement to ensure the building reaches the roofing stage, expressing optimism that the government will support the completion of the project.

Conveying the residents’ message, Maseya Street Chairman Alexander Fwalu thanked President Samia for the swift implementation of electrification plans and the drilling of irrigation wells through the National Irrigation Commission—interventions expected to benefit many farmers with reliable water for irrigation.

Chairman Fwalu also applauded Mr Mavunde for honouring his promise to initiate the construction of the Maseya dispensary promptly, pledging full cooperation from residents to ensure the project is completed on time and that essential health services are brought closer to the community.
