Time for reconciliation

DAR ES SALAAM: THE nation has passed through the General Election, get‑ ting President, members of Parliament and councillors for the next five years.
Having been sworn in, President Samia Suluhu Hassan comforted the nation due to unrest that erupted after the said election, calling for dialogue and reconciliation.
This is the right call at the right time let all stakeholders heed the President’s call so that the nation goes forward in unity, peace and tranquility, as those are the foundations upon which to extend development of the country and its people.
Dr Samia made the remarks in Dodoma on Friday while inau‑ gurating the 13th Parliament, using her speech to address the events that led to loss of life, destruction of property and heightened ten‑ sions across parts of the country.
Being Comforter-in-Chief, President Samia’s remarks carry a lot of weight, by providing a calm voice, unifying the nation and offer‑ ing comfort and spiritual guidance.
All citizens as well as others who reside in the country should whole heartedly take up this consolation in unification, binding up the nation and moving together towards a prosperous path.
