Dr Samia instructs the new PM to serve Tanzania diligently
DODOMA: THE President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, has urged the newly appointed Prime Minister, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, to serve citizens with professionalism and integrity to ensure the nation attains the expected productivity and development.
She also presented him with special handbooks that will guide him in carrying out his new government duties.
Speaking today at the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba held at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma, and attended by various government leaders, President Samia emphasized the importance of efficiency in executing government responsibilities.
“We have evaluated various areas of national service. The most important duty is to serve the people of the United Republic of Tanzania. Your responsibilities and directives are all in the Constitution, but I have handed you books outlining your duties and everything you’re required to oversee.”

She also commended Former Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa for the good work he accomplished during his tenure, stressing that Dr. Mwigulu is inheriting the role from a leader who served effectively.
“You are receiving the baton from our brother, the Former Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, who did an excellent job. The progress we pride ourselves on today construction of schools, health centers, and zonal hospitals, he has stood behind me to ensure these succeed. So you are inheriting the baton from a hardworking leader, and I trust you will follow in his footsteps and improve where necessary,” President Samia said.
In another development, President Samia noted that the government aims to accelerate its performance in order to implement its plans within a shorter time frame. She therefore instructed Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba to fully oversee the Cabinet to ensure the set pace is achieved.
