Mwigulu Nchemba sworn in as Tanzania’s Prime Minister

DODOMA: PRESIDENT  Samia Suluhu Hassan has officially sworn in Mwigulu Nchemba as the new Prime Minister of Tanzania for the first five-year term.

President Samia appointed Dr Nchemba as prime minister on October 13, and he was approved by parliament.

After administering oaths to the new Prime Minister, the President is expected to soon name members of her cabinet.

The colourful event was attended by various leaders and public figures including the former President, Jakaya Kikwete, former Vice President, Philip Mpango, former Prime Ministers, Kassim Majaliwa and Mizengo Pinda.

Other leaders who featured in the ceremony included CCM Vice-Chairman for Mainland Tanzania, Mr Stephen Wasira, Vice President, Emmanuel Nchimbi, Tanzania’s Attorney General, Hamza Johari, Deputy Speaker of the 13th Parliament, Daniel Sillo, the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Albert Chalamila and Arusha RC, Amos Makalla.
