Arusha beckons African security officials for tourism, training

ARUSHA: ARUSHA Regional Commissioner, CPA Amos Makalla, has welcomed the Heads of Security and Defense Agencies and various Officers from 16 African and non-African countries who are on a training tour of the National Defense College (NDC), assuring them a good stay in Arusha Region.
Mr Makalla made the statement today while welcoming the 72 Officers, including those from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Malawi, and Bangladesh, a delegation led by Ambassador Major General Wilbart Ibuge, the Director of the College.
“Arusha is a tourism hub for the northern regions of Tanzania. I would like to welcome you and make you feel at home. Arusha is progressing well in the tourism sector and other economic sectors,” he said.

In the training program known as the “Tentative Programme for Economy in Tourism”, the participants from 16 countries are expected to visit tourism sites, including the TANAPA Headquarters, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, the East African Community Headquarters as well as visiting various areas of Arusha City.
The aim of visiting these areas is to learn about the various cultures and environments of the city important for the economy, tourism, and other diplomatic activities.
