Mwinyi to address Zanzibar House of Representatives today

ZANZIBAR: ZANZIBAR President Hussein Mwinyi is set to address the 11th House of Representatives today, outlining his government’s priorities and strategic direction for 2025–2030, in line with the implementation of the CCM Election Manifesto.
Speaker of the Zanzibar House of Representatives, Zubeir Ali Maulid announced the schedule to members shortly after most newly appointed representatives were sworn in, urging full attendance at the session.
Speaker Maulid explained that the president’s address is mandated under Article 84 of the 1984 Zanzibar Constitution, which requires the president to officially open the House and inaugurate its activities for the next five-year term.
“The president’s address to the House and the public serves as a guiding framework for national development and the implementation of various campaign commitments,” said Speaker Maulid.

“I notify all representatives that President Dr Hussein Mwinyi will speak at 11:00 am on Monday, (today). Attendance is essential.” Meanwhile, Secretary of Ideology, Publicity and Training for the Zanzibar NEC Special Committee of CCM, Mr Khamis Mbeto Khamis stressed the importance of the president’s address to the House.
He said it will outline key goals and plans for the next five years, guided by the 2025–2030 CCM Election Manifesto, and will reflect the administration’s main priorities for improving the lives of Zanzibaris.
“During his first term, Dr Mwinyi achieved significant success in implementing the 2020–2025 CCM Manifesto, particularly in economic and social sectors,” Mr Khamis noted. “On Monday (today), citizens and CCM members should listen carefully to understand the government’s new focus and commitments for the next five years.”
