RC Dar announces the return of various services
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Albert Chalamila, has issued an official statement on the return of various essential social services in the Region, including the replacement of food trucks.
Other services include regional bus transportation as well as the sale of petroleum and diesel fuel at various stations, while banning the sale of such fuel in stores.
Chalamila made the statement following the order of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, calling on all regions in the country to ensure that services and social activities that were suspended due to the security threat are restored immediately.
Speaking to media outlets in Dar es Salaam, RC Chalamila said that while state agencies continue to strengthen peace after incidents of acts of peace violations committed by some youths during the elections, he has directed all services to resume, including ferries to Kigamboni, and buses heading to other regions, to resume operations in a special order.

“I direct the services of commuter buses (daladala), bajaji, and bodaboda to continue. “I condemn the arbitrary increase in the prices of goods. The government will not hesitate to take action against anyone who is found guilty.”
In addition, RC Chalamila has spoken about Dar Rapid Transport (Mwendokasi) whose infrastructure has been affected by criminal incidents, where he said that transport on the route to Kimara and Mbagala has been temporarily suspended while the government assesses the damage and repairs the infrastructure.
RC Chalamila has called on the land transport management authority(LATRA) to issue temporary permits to daladalas to provide transport services, especially for passengers coming from Mbezi and Kimara to the city center, and has emphasized that daladalas, bajaji, and bodabodas should not use expressways while ordering a meeting of EWURA and oil stakeholders.
