Nanauka commits to Mtwara’s progress

MTWARA: CCM parliamentary candidate for Mtwara Urban Constituency, Mr Joel Nanauka, has vowed that if elected his party will deliver on various development projects in their area, including economic growth and increased financial circulation within the town.
He made the remarks during a campaign rally held at the party’s main office in Chikongola Ward, MtwaraMikindani Municipality, Mtwara Region.
The campaign rallies are ongoing across the country ahead of the General Election scheduled for October 2025.
The purpose of these rallies, he explained, is to promote the CCM manifesto and highlight what the party intends to achieve over the next five years.
He therefore called upon voters to cast their votes in large numbers for CCM candidates who will continue advocating for key development initiatives in their communities.
“Since its establishment, CCM has always prioritised the interests of ordinary citizens by formulating policies that serve them best. The party has ensured that leaders are chosen to oversee issues that affect people’s lives such as farmers, special groups, small-scale traders and workers,” said Nanauka.
Presenting the party’s policies, Mr Nanauka stated that the CCM 2025–2030 Manifesto focuses on key priority areas, including strengthening Mtwara’s economy to create employment opportunities and raise people’s incomes.
He noted that historically, Mtwara was once the commercial hub of the southern zone.

“For any town to grow economically, certain fundamental conditions must be met. If you look at major cities like Arusha, Dar es Salaam and Mwanza, one of the key drivers of economic growth is the city’s ability to open up for business and investment activities,” emphasised Nanauka.
He added that through its 2025–2030 Manifesto, the CCM government has laid out solid strategies to open up Mtwara’s economy, attract investment and generate employment.
The manifesto, he said, outlines major projects to be implemented over the next five years to boost the town’s economy and enhance cash flow.
Among the planned projects, Mr Nanauka mentioned the rehabilitation and expansion of key economic roads leading into the town to ensure smooth transportation and accessibility.
He cited one of the projects involving the reconstruction and widening of the road starting from Parishi in the constituency, extending through Mnazimmoja to Masasi, to ease transportation for heavy trucks entering the region.
