Tanzanian experts see fortunes in the BAASANA Africa Conference

ARUSHA: TANZANIAN experts are the beneficiaries of the BAASANA Africa Conference, convened here as a vital platform for knowledge, demonstrating the country’s significant progress in finding solutions to social and economic challenges
Hosted by the Open University of Tanzania (OUT), the conference brought together scholars and professionals from various countries to discuss how education, science, business, and technology can help address development challenges across Africa.
Opening the conference on behalf of the Arusha Regional Commissioner, Amos Makalla, the District Commissioner of Arumeru, Mwinyi Ahmed Mwinyi, commended OUT for organizing such an important platform for knowledge and research exchange, noting that it is demonstrates Tanzania’s significant progress in connecting local and international experts to find solutions to social and economic challenges.
Speaking earlier, the Vice Chancellor of OUT, Professor Alex B. Makulilo, described the conference as a valuable opportunity for scholars to share research findings and develop solutions to issues affecting the African continent.

“The conference allows participants to understand how methodologies and studies conducted in other countries can be adapted to Tanzania’s context. It also strengthens academic research and fosters international collaboration among scholars. This exchange of knowledge contributes not only to academic development but also to the practical application of education and science in solving real-world community challenges,” he said.
Tanzania 2025 second BAASANA Africa Conference serves as a pivotal platform that brings together scholars and professionals from across the continent and beyond.
The event facilitates knowledge exchange, research, and discussions on social, scientific, technological, and developmental challenges facing Africa and the world, while promoting innovative solutions to contemporary societal issues.
