PARTIES MANIFESTO PROMISES: Othman echoes call for unity, peaceful co-existance

CHAKE CHAKE: WITH songs of patriotism, traditional drums and banners of hope, ACT-Wazalendo presidential candidate Othman Masoud Othman on Monday entered the final week of his campaign, marking the climax of his nationwide rallies ahead of the October 29 General Election.
Hundreds of supporters, party leaders and members from across Pemba turned out to welcome the candidate in a festive atmosphere that party officials described as a sign of growing support across the Zanzibar islands.
Throughout the campaign period, ACT-Wazalendo has urged voters to turn out in large numbers, vote peacefully and ensure their voices are heard through the ballot box.
Addressing a rally in Chake Chake District, Mr Othman expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, claiming he had assembled a capable team ready to form a government that would serve all Zanzibaris without discrimination.
“We have run a campaign based on truth, ideas and hope. Now it is time to reap the fruits of our hard work,” he said.
During the event, Mr Othman launched the Othman Masoud Youth Team (OMO) — a volunteer group formed to safeguard the party’s votes.
The OMO teams will monitor polling stations, address local challenges and help maintain peace and unity during the election.
Senior ACT-Wazalendo leaders in attendance included National Women’s Wing Secretary Fatma Alhabib Ferej, Elders’ Wing Secretary Janeth Fusi and National Youth Wing Secretary Mohamed Busara.
