RC assures Shinyanga residents of foolproof security, peaceful voting

SHINYANGA: SHINYANGA Regional Commissioner, Mboni Mhita, has assured residents in the region of a foolproof security as Tanzania heads to the General Elections on October 29, this year.
She emphasized that the region is safe and there is no security threat.
Speaking to media outlets in a press briefing held here, Ms Mhita said the Regional Government has made thorough preparations to ensure that the voting process is conducted peacefully, calmly, and fairly, without any disturbances to voters.
“I urge the people of Shinyanga to come out in large numbers to exercise their constitutional right to vote. The government is ready, and our security forces are vigilant to ensure the day passes peacefully. There is no security threat,” Mhita said.
He further stressed that the government will not tolerate anyone found inciting violence or engaging in acts that undermine peace, adding that strict legal actions will be taken immediately against offenders.

“We continue to closely monitor all political and social activities. We will not tolerate anyone disrupting peace. We want the election to be conducted with dignity, calmness, and in accordance with the values of our nation,” he added.
In her speech, the Regional Commissioner emphasized that peace is the foundation for societal development, noting that no region or country can achieve economic or social progress without stability.
Furthermore, she urged the residents of Shinyanga to continue cooperating with government authorities by reporting early signs of unrest to ensure that the elections take place in a safe and democratic environment.
