TWCC sends 20 entrepreneurs for business experience in China

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC), in collaboration with Equity Bank, has organized a two-week tour of 20 entrepreneurs to China to participate in a trade exhibition.

The purpose of this trip is to provide these entrepreneurs with opportunities to learn, exchange business experiences, and acquire skills that will help improve their businesses and contribute to the overall development of the nation.

This was announced today in Dar es Salaam by Jackline Temu, Manager of the Women and Youth Unit at Equity Bank. Jackline explained that the bank had launched a special window for women called Mwanamke Plus, aimed at growing women-owned businesses, providing financial education, and empowering them to become leaders in the business sector. This initiative is designed to ensure that all entrepreneurs, whether large or small, have opportunities to strengthen their economic standing.

Furthermore, Jackline Temu stated that the trade expo will help these women gain valuable business experience and access new markets, thereby expanding their business reach and increasing their income. She highlighted that a major challenge facing women entrepreneurs is the lack of loan collateral, which is why the Mwanamke Plus window was established to address this issue.

Jenny Saimon, Secretary of the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC), along with Doroth Kimati, stated that the exhibition would open up new business opportunities compared to before, thus helping to boost the economic growth of women entrepreneurs.

These trade exhibitions in China are held annually over six months, and this is the second time Equity Bank is sending entrepreneurs to participate with the aim of learning and exchanging experiences.
