Tanzania to compensate residents affected by the Kikombo road project

DODOMA: CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi(CCM) parliamentary candidate for Mtumba Constituency, Anthony Mavunde, has promised residents affected by the construction of the road leading to the military camp in Kikombo Ward that they will all be compensated.

Speaking during his ongoing campaign in Kikombo Ward, the candidate said that some residents have already begun receiving compensation.

Additionally, he said that the government is committed to paying people’s compensation and urged citizens to continue trusting the Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and its government, assuring them that everyone affected by the road project will be compensated.

Moreover, Mavunde addressed the long-standing challenge of water shortage in Chololo, noting that TANESCO staff have already visited the area for assessment and that the required amount to resolve the issue is 52m/-.

Elaborating, he said that the matter is currently under the Ministry of Energy, and pledged to follow up to ensure the problem is resolved quickly.

He also noted that the government has already allocated 23m/- for the construction of classrooms and to build teachers’ houses in Ngh’ungugu neighborhood.

“I am determined and committed to bring sustainable development and improved livelihoods for the people of Kikombo Ward and surrounding areas. But I also urge you all, let us turn out in large numbers on October 29, 2025, to vote for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) candidates for the positions of President, Member of Parliament, and Councilor,” he said.
