Tanzanians pay homage to Mwalimu Nyerere’s legacy
						MBEYA: THE Tanzanian Vice President, Dr. Philip Mpango, has urged Tanzanians to continue praying for the late Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, so that he may rest in peace and be counted among the saints.
The call was made during a special prayer service held today, October 14, 2025, at the Catholic Church of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Mwanjelwa, Mbeya region, where the Vice President joined leaders, congregants, and various members of the public to pray for the late Father of the Nation.
Speaking during the service, Vice President Dr. Mpango reminded leaders and citizens to follow the good example set by the Father of the Nation, who was always loyal to the country and consistently wished well for the nation.

On behalf of the government, the Vice President also expressed sincere gratitude to the congregants and people of Mbeya region for their large turnout and participation in the special prayer service for the late Father of the Nation.
The service included prayers and supplications to honor the Father of the Nation as well as prayers for the peace and prosperity of the country.
