DAREVA election set for October 25

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Dar es Salaam Regional Volleyball Association (DAREVA) has officially announced the date for its leadership election, scheduled to take place on October 25, 2025, in the city.
The election aims to fill various leadership positions within the association for the upcoming term.
According to an official statement released by the DAREVA Electoral Committee yesterday, candidates interested in vying for positions can collect nomination forms starting from October 11, 2025, at the association’s offices located at Uhuru Primary School, Kariakoo.
Completed forms must be submitted by 6:00pm on October 21, 2025 and must be accompanied by proof of payment of the required nomination fee.
Additionally, a vetting session for all candidates will be held a day before the election, on October 24, 2025.
This session will take place at the office of the Regional Sports Officer in Dar es Salaam and is aimed at ensuring all candidates meet the required qualifications.
The positions open for election include Chairperson, First ViceChairperson, Vice-Chairperson for Planning and Finance, Secretary General and Assistant Secretary.
Also open are positions within various commissions, such as Referees, Technical, Beach Volleyball, School Development and Women’s Volleyball.
The Electoral Committee said each position carries a specific nomination fee, with the Chairperson role requiring a fee of 50,000/-, while most other positions require between 40,000/- and 30,000/-. All payments are to be made through DAREVA’s account number 0133677169700 at CRDB Bank.
The electoral committee has set clear eligibility criteria for all candidates, including being a Tanzanian citizen, having knowledge of volleyball, a clean criminal record and being at least 23 years old.
In addition, candidates must reside in Dar es Salaam. For the position of Chairperson, candidates must have attended a recognised leadership course.
The association has encouraged wide participation from volleyball stakeholders in Dar es Salaam, emphasising that the election is a vital opportunity to bring in new leaders with a vision to develop the sport in the region.
The statement also noted that the association is committed to ensuring a free, fair and transparent election process in the interest of the game.
