Police seek Polepole’s relative to justify abduction claims

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Police Force has intensified its efforts to locate Augustino Polepole following allegations he made on social media, claiming that a police officer was involved in the alleged abduction of the former Tanzanian Ambassador to Cuba, Humphrey Polepole.
The incident is reported to have taken place during the night leading into October 6, 2025. Augustino, who identified himself as a relative of Humphrey, made the claims online, which have since sparked widespread debate across social platforms.
According to an official statement released today, October 7, 2025, by the Police Force Spokesperson, David Misime, the police require Augustino Polepole’s cooperation in the ongoing investigation.
They also want him to verify whether Humphrey Polepole was a resident or tenant at the house where the alleged abduction reportedly occurred.

The Police stated that following the circulation of these reports on October 6, they immediately opened a formal investigation file. Preliminary investigations have already begun, involving multiple security agencies, to establish the truth behind the claims and take appropriate legal action based on the findings.
So far, the Police have not released any official information regarding the whereabouts of Humphrey Polepole. They are urging the public to provide any information that could assist in the investigation.
Additionally, they have called on Augustino Polepole to come forward voluntarily to aid the inquiry and help uphold public safety and the integrity of state institutions.
