150 to reap benefits as Mind Matter Leadership training continues

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Mind Leadership Training continues to gather momentum as 150 Tanzanian women entrepreneurs and leaders are pegged to benefit immensely in the space of three weeks.
Tomorrow, October 4, 2025, the second phase of the training is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam, attracting 50 women who are ready to acquire practical tools in leadership, personal growth, and resilience.
This game-changing training, powered by Mind Matters Tanzania is designed to support women entrepreneurs and leaders in Dar es Salaam.
The initiative emphasizes the importance of mindfulness as an integral part of effective leadership across various sectors, including business, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Supported by Exim Bank Tanzania through its Women Empowerment Programme (WEP), the project aims to train 150 women by the end of 2025 and is structured into three phases.
The first cohort took place on Saturday, September 27, with the second and third scheduled for October 4th (tomorrow) and October 11th this year.
Speaking to the Daily News Digital on Friday, Mind Matters Tanzania Clinical Psychologist and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ms Nadia Ahmed says the program is already bringing positive impacts.
“Through this training, we focus on equipping women leaders and entrepreneurs with practical leadership tools, emotional intelligence, stress management strategies, mindful decision-making frameworks, plus innovative problem-solving techniques.
“The extraordinary part of this training is that it blends global best practices like the Six Thinking Hats with real-world experience, hence an ideal structure for Tanzanian businesses,” she says.
Queried on why it is important to impart the trainees with such skills, she replies that leadership today is not just about managing tasks but rather managing people, emotions, and complexity.
“Many women in leadership juggle multiple roles ranging from professional, personal, and community…so having tools that help them lead with clarity, resilience, and balance is critical.
“When women are empowered to lead mindfully, they make better decisions, build stronger teams, and drive sustainable growth,” she says.
On how she thinks the training will benefit Tanzanian women, she insists that it will bring confidence, leadership skills, and a strong network of like-minded women.

“They walk away with tools they can apply immediately in their businesses, workplaces, and communities…more importantly, it helps women see leadership as an authentic extension of who they are, rather than a role they must sacrifice themselves for…this mindset shift is powerful,” she states.
She therefore underscores that they plan to make Mindful Leadership Training a frequent, ongoing annual program so as to reach many women across Tanzania and East Africa at large.
“The vision is to build a movement of mindful leaders who drive impact at every level of society,” she concludes.
