Bank of Africa digital initiative drive financial inclusion

KILIMANJARO: Banking of Africa Tanzania has said the three-month digital banking campaign has successfully increased customer awareness, advancing financial inclusion and supporting the country’s economic growth.

This was highlighted by the bank’s Chief Digital Officer, Mr Lameck Mushi, while handing over the grand prize of 5m/- to the campaign’s top winner, Mr Dolvin Olomi from Kilimanjaro Region.

“This initiative is key to promoting financial inclusion, boosting efficiency, and supporting economic growth by expanding access to secure, convenient banking services,” he said.

He added that the campaign’s success shows that Tanzanians are ready to embrace digital banking when it’s simple, accessible and rewarding.

“Cutting bank-to-wallet transfer fees by over 50 per cent boosted mobile transactions, while prize incentives drove further engagement,” he said.
