Dar parts way with the UDART Kimara-route service provider

DAR ES SALAAM:  THE Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Albert Chalamila, has said that the current service provider of the rapid transit bus on the Kimara route will be removed immediately after the arrival of new rapid transit buses this week.

Speaking earlier today to residents during his visit to the Kimara Mwisho rapid transit bus terminal, he said that the contract will be handed over to another provider who will be capable of offering better services to the public.

Addressing challenges facing the residents within the region, which includes the shortage of rapid transit buses, Mr Chalamila noted that the government is aware of the challenge and has already ordered more than 200 buses to improve services.

“First let me continue apologizing to you people for the poor service that you have been receiving continuously, but secondly, I have come to assure you that before the end of this week, there must be new buses that will enter the country, while we are still searching for a permanent solution,” he said.

Moreover, he assured the Dar es Salaam residents that the government will continue improving public transport services by ensuring the availability of sufficient buses and strengthening the rapid transit system for the benefit of all citizens.
