Tanzania, Mozambique explore strategic areas of trade cooperation

LICHINGA, NIASSA: A team from the Embassy of Tanzania in Mozambique has visited Niassa Province in Mozambique, intending to explore strategic areas of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade and investment.
A statement issued by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation on Friday stated that, among many other things, the two countries also aim to expand their cooperation in the areas of transport infrastructure, for the mutual benefit of both sides.

The team was led by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Mozambique, Hamad K. Hamad, where they also had the opportunity to hold a discussion with top provincial leaders, including the Governor of Niassa Province, Elina Judite da Rosa Victor Massengele, and the Secretary-General of the Province, Silva Fernando Livone.
Moreover, the delegation also met with sectoral development stakeholders, where they delivered a special presentation highlighting various trade and investment opportunities available in Tanzania.
The visit brought about key agreements that were reached to foster development for the two countries in specific areas such as the economy, social welfare, security, transport, and energy.
