TTU leader dedicates his US College PhD to all Tanzanian teachers

DAR ES SALAAM: THE  President of the Tanzania Teachers’ Union, Suleiman M. Ikomba, has received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Administration and Human Development from In His Name Bible College, a university based in the United States.

Ikomba was honored for his outstanding work in education and public service. Speaking after receiving the honorary degree, he thanked his family—especially his wife and children—for their love and support throughout his journey.

“This award is not just for me,” he said. “It belongs to all teachers in Tanzania, through our union, CWT, and to the whole nation. I am accepting it on their behalf.”

Ikomba said he will use this recognition to continue promoting good leadership, respect for human dignity, and the development of education in the country. He stressed the importance of listening to teachers and including their voices in decisions that affect education.

“Together, we can build unity, respect, and national inclusion, so that the growth of teachers goes hand in hand with the development of our country,” he added.

He also thanked In His Name Bible College for recognizing his long-time efforts and called the award a big step in his mission to improve education in Tanzania.

In his final remarks, Ikomba gave thanks to God, calling the award a blessing in his life journey.

“This moment has given me even more motivation to serve my country with full commitment, and to always honor God in what I do,” he said.
