Singida opens doors to investors

SINGIDA: SINGIDA Regional Commissioner, Ms Halima Dendego, has called on both local and international investors to seize the abundant opportunities available in the region, citing its favourable investment climate across multiple sectors.

She made the call in Singida Municipality during the inauguration of Puma Energy Tanzania’s new fuel service station.

Ms Dendego assured potential investors that the region is fully prepared for investment, highlighting the availability of land, absence of bureaucratic hurdles and a reliable workforce.

“Singida has many suitable and secure investment areas, free of land disputes. Above all, we have sufficient manpower,” she said.

The RC further revealed that regional leaders have embarked on a mission to elevate Singida Municipality to city status, a move expected to stimulate investment, trade, revenue collection and economic activity.

“We have agreed that growth is a must. You cannot remain stagnant and be satisfied at municipal level and stop there. Leadership means ensuring progress so that future generations will remember you for the good you did for them,” she stressed.

She also urged Singida residents to uphold their tradition of hospitality and work closely with investors to become ambassadors for others interested in investing in the region.

At the same time, she instructed Puma Energy staff to maintain exemplary service delivery while warning them against theft, negligence and other unethical practices.

Earlier, Puma Energy Tanzania’s representative, Mr Benedict Ndunguru, commended the government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan for fostering an enabling environment for the private sector.

“These achievements have been made possible by the government’s willingness to collaborate with us. We value this strong partnership, which has facilitated investments like this one, and we pledge to continue supporting national development goals,” he said.

On his part, Mr Emmanuel Bakilana, Head of Legal and Public Affairs at Puma Energy Tanzania, stressed that safety and quality remain central to all the company’s operations.

“Safety is at the core of everything we do. By combining strict operational standards with our focus on delivering highquality fuels and lubricants, we ensure that our customers receive reliable energy services that support their goals and aspirations,” he said.

The fuel station is expected to generate significant benefits for the Singida community by creating jobs, offering opportunities for local suppliers and service providers and enhancing regional economic activities through access to dependable energy.
