Ladies Forum calls on youth to promote peace for economic development

DAR ES SALAAM: THE 2nd National Forum, convened in Dar es Salaam, has called on Tanzanian youth to continue promoting peace as a key pillar for economic development.
The call was made today by Miriam Dominick, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the Ladies Joint Forum, during the 2nd National Forum on the Youth, Peace, and Security Agenda, emphasizing that peace is the foundation of economic activity and national progress.
She also expressed gratitude to the government for its efforts to economically empower youth and maintain peace, which together help drive sustainable development.
On his part, Joseph Malengela, Executive Director of the African Leadership Initiative for Impact, echoed her sentiments, noting that youth make up the majority of the population and should therefore be prioritized in national discussions on peace, security, and resilience.

“The youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are a powerful force today. We must empower them and ensure their voices shape the future of this nation,” Malengela stressed.
The forum brought together various stakeholders from government, civil society, international organizations, and youth from different regions, intending to enhance youth participation in the national peace and security agenda.
