Moheli Island beckons tourism investors from Tanzania

MORONI: CHAMINA Ben Mohamed, the Governor of Moheli Island in Comoros, has called on investors in Tanzania’s tourism sector to visit the island to assess opportunities, including hotel construction and operation, as well as managing tour guiding companies.
Chamina made these remarks while speaking with Saidi Yakubu, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Comoros, who is on the island for a familiarization visit with various stakeholders.
“Moheli Island has beautiful beaches suitable for hotel development and has more tourist attractions than any other island in Comoros. I recognize that Tanzania has many stakeholders who can partner with us, and we warmly welcome them,” said Governor Chamina.

In response, Ambassador Yakubu informed the governor that tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors in Tanzania and promised to convey the message to relevant stakeholders.
Additionally, Ambassador Yakubu praised the efforts of both the Government of Comoros and the island’s government in improving transport infrastructure to enable Tanzanian aircraft to land on the island.
During the discussions, the governor was accompanied by his government officials, and it was agreed to conduct a visit to Tanzania after the General Election to establish formal cooperation with the regions of Lindi and Mtwara, as well as the cities of Zanzibar.
