NCCR-Mageuzi promises ethical governance, accountability
KIGOMA: THE National Convention for Construction and Reform (NCCR-Mageuzi) has vowed to enforce accountability and uphold ethics across all levels of government, if given mandate to form the government in the October 29th General Election.
Speaking during a campaign rally in Buhigwe District, Kigoma Region on Sunday, NCCR-Mageuzi presidential candidate, Mr Haji Ambar Khamis stressed the importance of ethical governance as the foundation for effective service delivery and sustain- able national development.
“We are witnessing alarming levels of moral erosion in public institutions, which undermines progress. Embezzlement of public funds is just one example,” Mr Khamis said.
“Strengthening ethical conduct in governance is key to preventing such malpractice.” He further said that enforcing ethics would help safeguard citizens’ rights, including their access to quality public services.
According to Mr Khamis, if elected, the NCCR led government will stick to constitutional duty of serving all citizens equally and responsibly.
He also linked ethical leadership to stronger family values, saying that promoting accountability in governance would encourage good parenting and help raise children with high moral standards, essential for the country’s future prosperity.
Mr Khamis also urged NCCR-Mageuzi parliamentary and councilorship candidates to conduct peaceful and constructive campaigns.

“Focus on arguments that promote development. Avoid insults and inflammatory language that may incite violence or division,” he told party members.
On her part, the party’s presidential running mate, Dr Eveline Munisi said an NCCR-Mageuzi government would prioritise Tanzanian citizens in all economic opportunities, including investment.
“We will promote a ‘Tanzania First’ policy to ensure that economic benefits favour citizens before foreigners,” she said.
Dr Munisi said the party’s vision is to build an inclusive economy through the sustainable and equitable use of natural and financial resources.
She also promised to intensify the fight against corruption to ensure public funds are used for their intended purposes, especially in implementing development projects.
“Too much public money ends up in the pockets of a few dishonest leaders. That must stop,” she said.
Dr Munisi urged all Tanzanians to maintain peace and unity before, during and after the elections.
