All set for Simba, Yanga showdown

DAR ES SALAAM: ARCH-RIVALS Simba SC and Young Africans SC are set to light up Benjamin Mkapa Stadium tomorrow in the Community Shield, kicking off Tanzania’s football season with high drama and fierce competition.
The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has confirmed that all preparations are complete for the highly anticipated clash.
TFF Media and Communications Officer Cliford Ndimbo said all logistical arrangements have been finalised for the fixture, which will kick off at 5:00 pm local time.
“We are fully prepared to host fans and ensure a smooth experience for everyone attending,” Ndimbo said.
To enhance fan engagement, the TFF has introduced a new interactive feature allowing supporters to vote for the Player of the Match.
The player receiving the highest number of votes will be named the winner, and one fan from the voting pool will be drawn to receive a jersey signed by the chosen player.
“This is part of our broader effort to bring fans closer to the game. It gives them a direct role in recognising outstanding performance on the pitch,” Ndimbo added.
