MOI staff reminded to uphold integrity, professionalism

Dodoma: STAFF at the Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) have been reminded to work with integrity, use polite language and observe workplace ethics.

Opening the Second Meeting of MOI’s Sixth Workers’ Council held in Dodoma recently, the Chairperson of the Institute’s Board of Trustees, Dr Marina Njelekela, said that although MOI is performing well overall, staff need to improve in these areas to move further ahead.

“Generally, MOI is progressing, but to reach a higher-level employees must work with greater integrity and speak courteously to clients,” she emphasized.

Dr Njelekela added that MOI staff must use respectful language with patients, whom she called “bosses”, noting that courteous service will attract more clients and generate more income, which is used to pay salaries.

The Council’s Secretary, who is also MOI Executive Director, Dr Mpoki Ulisubisya, said the Board Chairperson had reminded them of their responsibilities as leaders and employees, and that internally they also encourage each other to work with integrity, use polite language and uphold ethics.
