Fountain Gate return to Babati ahead Pre-Season tourney

BABATI: Fountain Gate FC has returned to their Babati base after completing two friendly matches in Dar es Salaam against Young Africans SC and Mashujaa FC.

While the team has opted not to disclose the results, the friendlies were considered an important part of their preparation for the upcoming season. The Babati side is now focusing on the Tanzanite Pre-Season International Tournament, which will begin tomorrow.

The tournament has attracted a competitive mix of regional and international teams, offering a valuable opportunity for clubs to test their strength ahead of the new season.

Among the confirmed participants are Bandari FC from Kenya, Tabora United, JKU FC, Namungo FC, City FC Abuja from Nigeria, TDS, Dodoma Jiji, Tanzania Prisons, and Coastal Union from Tanga.

The variety of opponents, which includes both Tanzanian Premier League clubs and international sides, promises high-quality football and an excellent chance for coaches to assess their squads.

Fountain Gate’s spokesperson, Issa Mbuzi, highlighted the importance of the competition in the team’s pre-season plans. "This tournament will help us prepare for the new season. It gives our players exposure to different playing styles and allows the technical staff to evaluate the squad readiness,he said.

The tournament comes at a crucial time for Fountain Gate, who are looking to build team cohesion and momentum. Mbuzi also mentioned that the focus will be on match fitness, tactical discipline, and team unity, particularly following the Dar es Salaam friendlies.

As the tournament draws nearer, anticipation is growing among supporters in Babati.
