National Cricket Team commences training in South Africa

SOUTH AFRICA: THE Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) has confirmed that the Senior Men’s National Cricket Team has begun their 15-day high performance training camp in Pretoria, South Africa.
The camp, which commenced over the weekend, will run from 23rd August to 5th September 2025 at the Sports School Elite Academy, ahead of the crucial T20 World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe this September.
With a squad of 16 players, the team will undergo intensive training, practice matches and international exposure under the guidance of Head Coach Mugammad Nackerdien and Assistant Coach Riziki Kiseto.
“This training camp is a pivotal moment for our players to refine their skills, increase their match experience and gain valuable exposure to international cricket, ensuring they are ready for the World Cup T20 Qualifier in Zimbabwe,”
TCA said in a statement on its social media platforms.

The squad is made up of Ajith Augastin, Ally Hifadhi Ally, Ally Kimote, Amal Rajeevan, Arun Yadav, Dhrumit Mehta, Ivan Selemani, Kassim Chete, Khalidy Juma, Laksh Bakrania, Mohammedi Mbaki, Mukesh Maker, Raymond Emmanuel, Yalinde Nkanya, Salum Ally and Sivaraj Selvaraj.
“As part of our commitment to the development of cricket in Tanzania, we are proud to provide our national team with the tools they need to succeed on the international stage. This camp is an essential part of the TCA’s efforts to elevate the standard of the game and prepare our team for global competition.”
Throughout the camp, the players will work closely with the coaching staff, focusing on strengthening their game in all aspects.
The TCA emphasised that this camp represents a significant step in ensuring the team’s readiness for the challenges ahead in the World Cup T20 Qualifier in Zimbabwe next month.
