VCU launches NextGen Africa scholarship for future leaders

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA  has been selected among five African countries to benefit from a newly launched education scholarship initiative—The Next Gen Africa Scholarship—aimed at equipping emerging leaders with quality online education.

Speaking to Daily News Digital during the official launch, Dr Tia Murry, Director of Veridian Christian University (VCU), said the program is a unique initiative designed to increase access to high-quality, faith-based online education for upcoming leaders across the continent.

“This scholarship will support exceptional individuals from five. participating countries—Tanzania, Ghana, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and.. Kenya—who demonstrate strong leadership potential, deep community engagement, and a commitment to bringing about positive change in their nations and beyond,” said Dr Murry.

According to the official, the scholarship program offers up to 100percent tuition coverage for select Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degree programs at VCU.

Recipients will gain access to a global network of VCU alumni and international mentors.

Upon graduation, they will be able to demonstrate leadership experience in their community, religious institutions, or workplace, show financial need, and inability to fully fund their education.

“Final selection will be based on leadership potential, academic excellence, and alignment with VCU’s mission of integrating faith and education to develop ethical, compassionate, and visionary leaders,” said Dr Murry.

Dr Naike Moshi, VCU co-founder, emphasized the importance of investing in Africa’s future leaders and encouraged women to actively apply for the opportunity.

“We urge women to seize this chance and be part of Africa’s transformation story,” she added.
