NIT sees success in its pilot training course

DAR ES SALAAM: THE National Institute of Transport (NIT) said the newly introduced pilot training course has saved the country millions of dollars.
None has been sent to study aviation-related courses out of the country since NIT started offering the course a few years ago.
The Rector of the Institute, Dr Prosper Mgaya, made the statement during an interview on TBC1’s Jambo Tanzania program that was held earlier on Monday in Dar es Salaam.
Dr Mgaya stated that the move aims at providing a solution for Tanzanians who previously faced the challenge of seeking aviation training abroad.

Additionally, he said the introduction of the training will reduce costs for both the government and Tanzanians in general, who used to spend large sums of foreign currency to train pilots abroad.
He further noted that the institute currently has 10 students undertaking the program.
