Tanesco tables plenty of employment opportunities for Tanzanians

DODOMA: DEPUTY Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, has announced that the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (Tanesco) is set to recruit new employees to keep pace with the growing number of Tanzanians using electricity services, including in rural areas.
Speaking today, Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Dodoma during the launch of a subsidized electric stove distribution program for Tanesco employees, Dr. Biteko said President Samia Suluhu Hassan has approved the hiring of additional staff to strengthen the company’s workforce.
“It is an undeniable fact that the demand for electricity services in rural areas remains high. We need more people, and President Samia has approved the recruitment of new employees to improve service delivery,” he said.

He also urged Tanesco leaders to continue listening to their customers, addressing their concerns, and maintaining high service standards. He assured employees that the government will continue to support them in recognition of their hard work.
“As services continue to improve, whatever you need will be provided. Work hard and serve the customers,” he added.
