Tanzania claims silver at Zambia Agriculture, Trade Fair

LUSAKA, Zambia: TANZANIA has emerged as the overall runner-up at the 97th International Agriculture and Trade Exhibition taking place at the agriculture and trade grounds in Lusaka, Zambia.
The certificate for the Second International Winner was awarded to Tanzania by the President of the Zambia Agriculture and Commercial Show and the exhibition organizers, who featured participation from 25 countries, on Sunday.
Moreover, the ministry stated that Tanzania received the recognition due to its outstanding performance in transport and logistics services, as well as the provision of specialized health education and services at the Tanzania pavilion.

The ministry further mentioned Tanzania’s key contributors to the award-winning as the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA), Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL), Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital (MZRH), Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI), Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI), and its embassy in Zambia, as they represented the country.
Speaking after receiving the award, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Zambia, Lieutenant General Mathew Mkingule, said the award was a result of quality services provided to Zambian citizens and visitors from other Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries who visited the Tanzania pavilion.
Additionally, he said that Tanzania was praised for its excellent port services within the Dar es Salaam Corridor, which includes the TANZAM Highway, the TAZARA railway, the TAZAMA oil pipeline, and direct air transport offering eight weekly flights linking major Zambian cities (Lusaka–Dar es Salaam and Ndola–Dar es Salaam).
Tanzania’s pavilion also offered expert-led health education and medical screenings.
