Chinese firm comes to invest in Tanzanian tourism  

DODOMA:  A Chinese firm, Powerlong Real Estate Holdings company has pledged to cooperate in Tanzania by investing in tourism infrastructure, particularly in accommodation services, residential and commercial buildings derived from various tourism product opportunities with the aim of boosting the growth of the tourism sector in the country.

This was disclosed in a discussion between the Assistant Director of Tourism, Richie Wandwi and the Vice President of Powerlong Group, Justin Yongtang Zheng, in Dodoma on Wednesday.

In their discussion, the Vice President of Powerlong Group said the company intends to invest in various strategic areas, including cities and protected areas, through large-scale construction projects of commercial buildings as well as accommodation services.

Additionally, he said that the company has been impressed by the efforts made by the government in promoting Tanzania tourism in China and the world in general.

Speaking earlier, Mr Wandwi noted that the investment opportunity through Powerlong Group is a result of the President Samia’s Royal Tour film, which has promoted Tanzania internationally by showcasing its tourism opportunities.
