Over 1.74m Tanzanians respond as Vision 2050 goes viral  

DODOMA: Many Tanzanians responded well to the Vision 2050, with over 1,174,000 people from diverse social groups supporting it.

The Vision 2050 National Development Agenda, which is being officially launched today, July 17, 2025, in Dodoma by the Tanzanian  President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Speaking today in Dodoma, the Permanent Secretary of the President’s Office Planning and Investment, Dr. Tausi Kida, said that the National Planning Commission has played a significant role in coordinating the entire process of collecting public opinions on the development vision for the next 25 years.

“The President’s Office – Planning and Investment, through the National Planning Commission, has done a commendable job in coordinating the entire process of gathering views from Tanzanians on what they envision for the 2025–2050 Development Vision. Around 1,174,000 people took part, representing various social groups including youth, the elderly, children, persons with disabilities, women, political parties, the private sector, religious groups, and civil society organizations,” said Dr. Kida.

The Vision 2050 agenda aims to provide a strategic direction for the country’s long-term development, focusing on the well-being of citizens, competitive economic growth, inclusive development, and sustainable resource use.

The official launch of the Vision 2050 is taking place today, July 17, 2025, in Dodoma.
