Maltese Floriana sign Tanzania M’Mombwa

DAR ES SALAAM: FLORIANA FC have confirmed the signing of Tanzanian international Charles M’Mombwa as the club’s seventh addition ahead of the 2025/26 Maltese Premier League campaign.

The 27-year-old central midfielder joins the Maltese giants from Australian side Newcastle Jets, where he featured for six months between January and June this year.

Despite the short stint, M’Mombwa left an impression in the A-League Men, adding to a career tally of over 90 top-flight appearances.

Internationally, M’Mombwa has represented Tanzania on nine occasions, including appearances in FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations.

His experience also spans continental and domestic tournaments, having competed in the AFC Cup and the Australia Cup.

In a statement, the club said: “Floriana FC is pleased to announce its seventh signing ahead of the 2025/26 season Tanzanian international midfielder Charles M’Mombwa.

“We welcome Charles to the Floriana FC family and look forward to seeing his energy and experience in green and white!” Speaking after his unveiling, M’Mombwa expressed his enthusiasm about the move: “I am glad to join Floriana and ready to assist my new side to the goal.”

Floriana FC, one of Malta’s most decorated clubs, boast a proud history with 26 national league titles and 21 FA trophies.
