700 CEOs on course as Arusha set for Special Working session

DAR ES SALAAM: IN its continued efforts to ensure public institutions play an active and competitive role in the modern economy, the Tanzanian government, through the Office of the Treasury Registrar, has organized a special working session titled “CEO Forum 2025.” The forum is expected to bring together approximately 700 Board Chairpersons and Chief Executive Officers from public institutions across the country.
Speaking today in Dar es Salaam, the Director of Performance Management, Monitoring and Evaluation for Commercial Public Entities, Ms. Lightness Mauki, announced that the high-level forum is scheduled to take place from August 23 to 26, 2025, in Arusha.
Ms. Mauki explained that the main objective of the forum is to hold in-depth discussions on how public institutions can actively contribute to a results-driven modern economy, increase non-tax revenue, and become globally competitive players.

“In these institutional discussions, the Government aims to enhance efficiency, accountability, and innovation within public organizations, so they can become true partners in the nation’s development,” said Ms. Mauki.
She further added that the forum will also serve as a platform to prioritize the implementation of the Tanzania Development Vision 2050, by ensuring public institutions are well-positioned to contribute to the country’s economic and social transformation.
According to Vision 2050, the Government is committed to transitioning Tanzania into an upper-middle-income economy by the year 2050, targeting a GDP of 1tri US dollars and an average per capita income of 7,000 US dollars annually.
