3,400 firms enlighten business at Sabasaba Fair

DAR ES SALAAM: WITH more than 3,400 private companies, along with various government institutions, the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) has been officially launched today.

Commonly known as Sabasaba, the two-week exhibition is taking place at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Grounds along Kilwa Road in Dar es Salaam.

The announcement was made today, July 2, 2025, by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr. Selemani Jafo, while speaking to journalists during his visit to the exhibition grounds. Dr. Jafo encouraged Tanzanians to take advantage of the event to market themselves and promote their products and services in order to enhance competitiveness in both local and international markets.

He noted that this year’s fair has received special recognition due to its international appeal, attracting participants from various countries who are showcasing their products and services while also exploring opportunities for business partnerships. He emphasized that this is a significant step toward promoting industrial development and entrepreneurship in Tanzania.

Dr. Jafo also highlighted that Tanzania is a member of the East African Community (EAC), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which includes over 50 countries with a combined population of more than 1.4 billion people. He said Tanzanian participation in this fair presents a valuable opportunity to tap into these large regional and continental markets.

The Sabasaba exhibition continues to serve as a vital platform for businesses, investors, and institutions to showcase innovation, build business networks, and engage in economic dialogues that contribute to the overall growth of the national economy.
