Tap opportunities at Nane Nane exhibitions, youth told

DODOMA: VICE-President Dr Philip Mpango is expected to officially open the Nane Nane exhibitions today at the Nzuguni grounds in Dodoma, with organisers calling on the public to attend in large numbers.

The week-long exhibitions, which run through August 8, aim to showcase innovations and best practices in agriculture, livestock and fisheries, while promoting learning, networking and business opportunities in the sector.

This year’s event has drawn broad participation, with representatives from eight African countries confirmed to take part, alongside over 640 agricultural stakeholders from across Tanzania already registered.

Speaking ahead of the official opening, Dodoma District Commissioner Alhaj Jabir Shekimweri commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her leadership and investment in upgrading the exhibition infrastructure.

“Thanks to the directives of President Samia, we now have modern, permanent pavilions and improved road infrastructure within the grounds, which will ensure a dust-free and visitor-friendly environment,” he said.

He added that the international dimension of this year’s exhibition highlights Tanzania’s growing role in regional agricultural development.

“There has been an overwhelming response from institutions and stakeholders. The level of engagement signals that this year’s event will be among the most vibrant and impactful we have hosted,” the DC noted.

Mr Shekimweri urged all citizens especially youth and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunity, stressing that entry is free and the exhibitions offer vast potential for knowledge-sharing and partnership-building. President Samia is expected to close the exhibition on August 8.
