Dar Cleric insists on financial transparency as a key to strong marriages

DAR ES SALAAM: PASTOR Dr Christine Mbelwa has urged married couples to embrace financial transparency as a way to strengthen their relationships and support each other in meeting family responsibilities.

Speaking to the Daily News Digital, Dr Mbelwa emphasized that openness regarding income and expenditures fosters trust, mutual understanding, and cooperation in planning and managing household matters.

“It is important for each partner to know the other’s income. It should not be a situation where the woman hides her earnings while the man carries the family burden alone,” she stated.

She further stressed that money should not be managed in secrecy, but rather through joint decision-making. She encouraged couples to be aware of each other’s work schedules, responsibilities, and daily challenges.

Dr Mbelwa also highlighted the importance of addressing problems early, before they escalate into more serious issues.

“Financial unity builds a strong foundation for a healthy and harmonious marriage,” she concluded.
