Tanzanian entrepreneurs urged to embrace digital transactions in business

DAR ES SALAAM: THE public has been urged to move away from the traditional use of paper business transactions and adopt modern digital methods that align with technological advancements, save time, and reduce costs and inconvenience.
The call was made by Praygod Mushi, Communications Manager at Envaita, who said that despite the numerous benefits of digital invitations, many people still lack understanding and often view them with skepticism.

“Digital methods are highly effective, but the biggest challenge is people’s mindset. Many still believe that receiving an invitation via phone is disrespectful or a scam, but that’s an outdated view. The world has changed, and everything now revolves around technology,” Mushi said.
He explained that digital invitations also make budgeting easier, as hosts can know in advance the exact number of attendees, which helps with event planning.
Speaking about the services offered by Envaita, Mushi said the company provides simple, affordable, and accessible digital invitation services for both smartphone and feature phone users.
“Our invitations are sent via WhatsApp, and for those without smartphones, we send standard text messages including their card number and all event details online. For those who may suspect the invitation is a scam, we call them directly to reassure them. On the event day, we are also present to scan invitation cards,” he explained.
Mushi added that the digital cards are secure—they cannot be reused, and no uninvited person can enter the event.

Moreover, after the event, the company sends thank-you messages on behalf of the family to all attendees, as a gesture of appreciation.
Mushi emphasized the need for society to embrace this new system of invitation delivery, as it matches the pace of the digital world and simplifies event organization and management.
