Tanzania sees success in the 14% of its resources spent on education

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government has allocated 14 percent of its resources for inclusive education to ensure Tanzanian youth are better educated.
That was revealed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Carolyne Nombo, who insisted that the government will continue to promote inclusive education with equality and quality across the country, aiming to provide productive education for both society and the nation.
She made these remarks today, September 26, 2025, in Dar es Salaam while closing the 5th conference organized by the Tanzania Education Network (TENMET).
She mentioned that some of the key points discussed during the conference include the need for countries to increase and improve local educational resources to ensure sustainability, for each country to finance educational reforms, and for teachers to remain the core of learning, requiring development and motivation.

Furthermore, Nombo said the government has allocated 14pecent of resources to the education sector to ensure sustainability because education is central to teaching. Therefore, participants at the conference are encouraged to apply what they have learned to achieve productivity and better outcomes in education.
On his part, Simon Nanyaro, Chairman of the Tanzania Education Network (TENMET) Board, said the Ministry of Education has cooperated with them to successfully hold the conference. Through the event, they received various trainings which they believe will be productive and beneficial to society.
The conference was officially opened two days ago by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Doto Biteko, and was attended by 465 participants from within the country and from various other countries. It was closed today by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Carolyne Nombo.
