Deputy Minister urges EWURA to embrace innovation

DODOMA: Energy Deputy Minister, Ms Salome Makamba, met with members of the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) management in Dodoma on Monday to discuss various operational issues and improvements within the country’s energy sector.
Ms Makamba made her maiden visit to the regulator’s headquarters in the capital city since her recent appointment, urging EWURA’s management to enhance speed, innovation, and efficiency.
She commended EWURA for its commendable work in regulating energy services, but called on the Authority to push further in boosting performance and embracing new approaches.
“I am not a believer in failure, so I urge you to prepare yourselves to match this pace, so that you continue to excel in your operations,” she said.
On the same occasion, EWURA Director General, Dr James Andilile, presented to Ms Makamba a brief report outlining the Authority’s responsibilities, key achievements, and the areas currently being strengthened.

Dr Andilile pledged that the institution will continue to improve efficiency in carrying out its mandate to ensure that citizens receive quality, safe, and reliable services.
