India pledges to deepen ties with Tanzania in diplomacy, defence, security

DAR ES SALAAM: INDIA has pledged to continue its collaboration with the Tanzanian government to ensure that the relationship continues to flourish for the benefit of both countries and their people.

The Indian High Commissioner to Tanzania, Bishwadip Dey, pledged during a discussion with Tanzania’s Minister for Defence and National Service, Dr. Rhimo Nyansaho, at the sub-offices of the Ministry of Defence and National Service in Upanga, Dar es Salaam.

During the meeting, High Commissioner Dey introduced himself and thanked the government of Tanzania for continuing to uphold the relations while pledging to cooperate with the Minister in strengthening the long-standing historical relations between Tanzania and India, particularly in the area of defence and security diplomacy.

Tanzania’s Minister for Defence Dr Rhimo Nyansaho, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to further strengthen the existing good cooperation between Tanzania and India.

He assured Ambassador Dey that the Ministry would continue to faithfully implement all defence-sector agreements reached between the two countries.

The defence ministries of Tanzania and India, through their respective armed forces, have been cooperating in various areas, including training, joint exercises, exchange visits, experience sharing, strategic projects, and the exchange of instructors in military colleges.
