Finland’s Stubb jet in Dar es Salaam, starts his 3-day tour

DAR ES SALAAM: THE President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, arrived in Tanzania today, May 14, 2025, for a three-day official tour, following an invitation from President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

President Stubb was received by his host, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, at the State House in Dar es Salaam, where he was accorded full ceremonial honors.

His visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and deepen cooperation between Finland and Tanzania across various sectors.

 

Following the official reception, the two Heads of State are expected to hold high-level bilateral talks, after which they will address a joint press conference.

The Finnish leader was welcomed by several senior government officials, including Minister of Finance Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, Minister for Information and Communication Technology Jerry Silaa, Finland’s Ambassador to Tanzania, and members of the diplomatic corps.

 

During his stay, President Stubb is scheduled to participate in a range of engagements, including a seminar commemorating the legacy of the late Martti Ahtisaari, former President of Finland and Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

He is also expected to launch the Business Ecosystem Project of the Forestry, Land Use and Value Chains Development in Tanzania (FORLAND) at the city’s Botanical Gardens.

 

President Stubb’s visit is expected to reinforce the long-standing diplomatic and development cooperation between the two nations.
